Tui Nectar Feeder

$44.95
Regular price  Sale price  $44.95

A nectar feeder made for the needs of native garden birds. The red base mimics native flowers so birds find it easily, and the small feeding holes suit the fine, tapered beaks of tūī, korimako and tauhou. A wide perching ring keeps feathers and droppings clear of the nectar, and a removable cap keeps bees out.

Delivers within New Zealand only.

Unscrew the bottle, fill it with nectar mix or sugar water, and screw it back into the base firmly without over-tightening. A ratio of one part nectar mix or sugar to four parts water works best. A sample sachet of nectar is included to get you started.
Hang the feeder high and out of reach of predators, ideally near native trees and shrubs or other feeding spots. Larger birds are more likely to visit once smaller birds are already using it.
Tip out any nectar left after three days so it doesn't ferment. Dirty feeders can spread disease between birds, so wash it in warm, gently soapy water or put it through the dishwasher before every refill.

Glass bottle with a red feeder base. Both parts are dishwasher safe.

Measures 29cm x 25cm x 25cm. Sturdy enough to take the weight of several tūī at once.

For friends far and near

A gift card is the easy answer when you'd like to give something good but aren't sure what they'd choose. They pick the fibre, the colour and the fit, whether that's a possum merino jumper, a silk layer or something for the home.

It arrives by email with a code to use at checkout, so it can reach someone down the road or on the other side of the world in the time it takes to send. No postage, no waiting, and no second-guessing sizes.

Gift cards are valid for five years, so there's no rush to spend it.

Is it dishwasher or microwave safe?

It varies by item, so check the product page. Where there are restrictions, we list them in the product details. If it isn't clear, email sales@nznature.co.nz and we'll confirm before you buy.

Does this make a good gift?

It's a large part of why people buy natural fibre homeware. There's no sizing to get wrong, and a throw, duvet or set of tea towels suits a household rather than one person's taste, which takes most of the guesswork out of it.

Natural fibre pieces also tend to be used rather than put away. Wool and possum merino in particular improve with use and last for years, which counts for more than novelty at a wedding, a housewarming or a new baby.

Where a piece is made here it carries an NZ Made tag, which is worth knowing if you're sending something overseas.

We don't gift wrap at the moment, but we're happy to include a message from you. Add it in the notes when you order, along with who it's from. If a gift turns out not to be right, the recipient can note that on the returns form and we'll handle the exchange discreetly.

Can I return a homeware item?

Yes, within six months of the order date, provided the item is unused and in its original, undamaged packaging. Fill in the returns form enclosed with your order and send it back with the item, packaged securely for the return journey. Return postage is at your own cost, but we don't charge you postage to send a replacement out. If you can't find your form or you're not sure whether something qualifies, email sales@nznature.co.nz with your order number.
