Bird Feeding Starter Kit

$29.95

Everything a family needs to start welcoming birds and helpful insects into the backyard. Fill the coconut feeder, mix up some nectar, sow the wildflowers and see who comes to visit, from tūī and korimako to tauhou, finches and bees. A feeding guide and a kids' activity booklet help young nature lovers learn about each visitor as they arrive.

Delivers within New Zealand only.

Fill the coconut feeder with an energy truffle or the finch seed, and swap between the two to see which birds come to feed. Mix the nectar as directed on the sachet and serve it in a shallow bowl or nectar feeder. Hang feeders high off the ground, out of reach of cats and other predators. Birds can take a while to find new food, so be patient, top it up regularly and clean the feeder before each refill.
Store in a cool, dry place. Packaging is compostable or recyclable.

Energy truffles are made with vegetable fat and tend to draw tauhou, as well as sparrows, blackbirds, thrushes and yellowhammers.
The nectar is blended to mimic native flower nectar for tūī, korimako and tauhou.
The finch mix is New Zealand-grown seed for finches, sparrows and other seed-eaters.
The wildflower mix attracts bees and other beneficial insects.

The kit includes:
1 ready-to-fill coconut shell feeder
1 four-pack of energy truffles
1 sachet of wild bird nectar
1 sachet of wild finch seed mix
1 sachet of wildflower seed mix
1 wild bird feeding guide
1 kids' activity booklet
